Quick Homemade Chili

  • 2 Tbsp. pure vegetable oil
  • 1/2 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (15 1/2 oz.) can small red beans or kidney beans, undrained
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 to 2 tsp. chili powder

    Cook and stir garlic and meat in hot oil in large skillet until meat loses its red color.

    Add beans with their liquid, onion and green pepper.

    Pour in tomato sauce.

    Add salt and chili powder and stir.

    Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until chili is desired thickness, about 45 minutes.
