  • 4 egg yolks, beaten (save whites)
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cold water
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder

Directions

    Beat egg yolks; cream in the sugar.

    Add exactly 3 tablespoons of cold water.

    Add vanilla, salt, flour and baking powder.

    In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff.

    Fold into first mixture.

    Bake about 1 hour at 325° or until firm to the touch and a delicate brown.
