"Quickie" Pickles

  • 2 Large or 3 Medium Cucumbers
  • 2 Onions (Medium)
  • 1 tsp. Celery Seed
  • 1 tsp. Turmeric
  • 1 c. Vinegar
  • 1 tsp. White Mustard Seed
  • 2 Tbsp. Salt
  • 1/2 c. Sugar

Directions

    Peel and slice cucumbers and onions.

    Sprinkle with salt and cover with ice cubes for 1 hour.

    Drain.

    Add to vinegar, sugar and spices.

    Bring to a boil.

    Pour in jars and seal.

    May use in 24 hours.

    If the cucumbers are seedy, cut the seeds out and slice in strips lengthwise.
