  • 1 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. cooked raisin juice
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 c. flour (white bread flour)
  • 2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in a little warm water
  • 3 c. raisins

Directions

    First boil 3 cups raisins in 2 cups of water.

    Drain juice off raisins and let juice cool.
  3. 3
    (This is the liquid you use in the cake.)

    Combine ingredients and pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.

    Makes a large cake.
