Raspberry Oatmeal Bars

  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
  • 2 1/2 c. quick cooking oats
  • 3/4 c. margarine, melted
  • 12 oz. jar raspberry jam
  • 1 Tbsp. water

    Combine cake mix and oats.

    Stir in margarine until mixture is crumbly (mix with hands towards end).

    Put 3 cups of mixture in a 9 inch x 13 inch pan and press down firmly. Combine jam and water and spoon over crumb mixture.

    Spread evenly to within 1/4 inch of edge.

    Cover with remaining crumb mixture. Make top even by patting firmly. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.

    Cool before cutting into bars. Yield: 10-12 servings as a desert or 24-30 bars as cookies.
