Raw Apple Cake

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and nutmeg or any spice you like
  • 3 c. raw apples, peeled and grated or chopped
  • 1/2 c. nuts (optional)

Directions

    Cream together sugar, butter and vanilla; beat in egg.

    Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg or spice you like.

    Peel and grate or chop raw apples.

    Add flour mixture and apples to creamed mixture.

    Add nuts.

    Bake at 325° for 40 minutes in greased 8 x 12-inch pan.

    Serve warm or cooled.

    Good with whipped cream or ice cream.
