- 3 to 4 lb. beef chuck, shoulder or pot roast
- salt and pepper
- 1/4 to 1/3 c. oil
- 1 c. water or low-fat beef broth
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 (16 oz.) can chopped tomatoes
- 1 small can tomato sauce
- 1 can chopped green chiles
- 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. comino
Directions

1Brown meat on both sides; add all other ingredients.

2Cook at 350° for 3 to 4 hours.

3Add enough water to fill pan 3/4 full; don't let dry out.

4Meat should fall apart.

5Serve over Spanish rice or can make burritos.
