- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. quick cooking tapioca
- 2 1/2 c. canned, pitted red cherries, drained
- 3 or 4 drops almond extract
- few drops red food coloring
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- pastry for 9-inch lattice top pie
Directions

1Combine the first 6 ingredients and a dash of salt; let stand 20 minutes.

2Line a 9-inch plate with pastry.

3Fill; dot with butter.

4Adjust lattice crust; crimp edge high.

5Bake in very hot oven (450°) for 15 minutes.

6Reduce heat to 375° and bake about 45 minutes more.
