- 2 1/2 cups cake flour
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 3/4 cups wesson oil
- 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
- 6 eggs
- 1 Tbsp vanilla
- 1 Tbsp vinegar
- 1 1/2 bottles red food coloring
Directions

1Mix sugar, oil, and egg yolks, and beat well.

2Mix dry ingredients, sift 3 times, and add to sugar, oil & egg mixture. Add buttermilk, vanilla and food coloring, beating with mixer until mixed well. Fold in beaten egg whites last.

3Pour in 4 to 5 well-greased layer cake pans.

4Bake 320 degrees preheated oven. Cool and ice with cream cheese icing (recipe follows).
