  • 5 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 4 Tbsp. hot water

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients; cut in shortening.

    Add buttermilk and yeast that has been dissolved in hot water.

    Put in oiled bowl in refrigerator.

    You don't have to wait for rising.

    Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter.

    Bake at 425° for 10 minutes.

    It is better the second day.

    The dough will keep a week in the refrigerator.
