Ingredients
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. scalded milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 5 1/4 c. flour
Directions

1Soften yeast in water.

2Scald milk; add sugar, salt and shortening.

3Cool to lukewarm.

4Add enough flour to make a thick batter.

5Mix well.

6Add yeast and eggs and beat well.

7Add more flour to make a soft dough.

8Place dough in greased bowl; brush top with soft lard or shortening.

9Cover tightly.

10Refrigerate until doubled or until needed.

11To use, punch down, cut off amount needed and form into shape.

12Let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.

13Bake at 400° about 10 to 15 minutes. Serve.

14Can be kept 1 week, covered, in refrigerator.
