Ingredients

  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cake yeast
  • 1 Tbsp. warm water
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 c. flour

Directions

    Bring the first 4 ingredients to boil; let cool.

    Mix together the yeast, warm water and 1 tablespoon sugar.

    Mix in the flour. Batter will be sticky.

    Let raise once, then form into balls, 3 to a muffin cup.

    Let raise again.

    Bake for 20 minutes at 350°. (Dough can be used for cinnamon rolls.)

    This will keep several days in refrigerator.
