  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 c. uncooked rice
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 can consomme soup (add water to measure 2 c. liquid)
  • 1 (15 oz.) can chili without beans
  • 8 slices American cheese

Directions

    Cook onion in oil for 2 to 3 minutes.

    Add next 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

    Put half of rice mixture in a baking dish; top with half of chili and then cheese slices.

    Repeat layers with remaining rice, chili and cheese slices.

    Bake at 350° until cheese melts, about 15 minutes.
