- 4 handfuls vermicelli
- 1/2 lb. butter or margarine
- 4 cans Campbell's consomme
- 1/2 can water
- 1 lb. MJB long grain rice (2 c.)
- 1 can sliced mushrooms
- 2 pkg. blanched almonds
- chives (if desired)
Directions

1Break up vermicelli in melted butter and brown.

2Add consomme and water.

3Add rice.

4Heat until hot.

5Cover and cook 45 minutes with lid on.

6No peeking!

7Add almonds, mushrooms and chives. Bake 45 minutes in casserole at 350°.

8Serves 16; may be halved.
