- 1/2 c. uncooked rice
- 4 c. milk (divided)
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. raisins, if desired
Directions

1In top of double boiler, combine rice and 2 cups milk.

2Cook, stirring occasionally, over boiling water until rice is tender. Stir in butter.

3Beat eggs; blend in sugar, vanilla, salt and remaining milk.

4Stir into the hot rice.

5Pour into 2-quart casserole and top with nutmeg.

6Bake at 350° for 50 minutes or until firm.
