  • 3 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 tsp. Lorann flavoring
  • food coloring
  • powdered sugar (optional)

    Mix sugar, syrup and water together. Place in a heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil without stirring until temperature reaches 310°. Remove from heat. When boiling ceases, stir in flavoring and coloring. Pour mixture into buttered cookie sheet. The mixture will get hard, break into pieces. (I cover a hammer with a plastic bag to break into pieces.) Put into an airtight container and sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar.
