- 1 c. butter, softened
- 2 c. sugar
- 8 egg whites
- 3 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 c. milk
- almond extract to taste
- Frosting
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy.

2Add egg whites 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Mix flour and baking powder in bowl; mix well.

4Add to egg white mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.

5Stir in almond extract.

6Pour into 4 greased and floured 8-inch round cake pans.

7Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until cakes test done.

8Remove to wire racks to cool.

9Spread frosting between layers and over top and side of cake.
