Ingredients
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups oats, quick cooking
- 1 1/4 cups flour, all-purpose
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Directions

1In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.

2Add water and vanilla, mix well.

3Combine dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture and mix well.

4Chill for 30 min.

5Shape into two 1 1/2 inch rolls, wrap tightly in waxed paper.

6Chill for 2 hours or until firm.

7Cut into 1/2 inch slices and place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets.

8Bake at 375F (190C).
