Ingredients

  • 4 c. plain flour
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 4 heaping Tbsp. Crisco
  • 1 1/2 c. warm water

Directions

    Sift dry ingredients together.

    Add Crisco to flour with pastry blender until it looks like coarse meal.

    Make a well in the flour and pour in the water.

    Stir until it can be turned out on floured board.

    Knead 10 times.

    Roll and cut out.

    Dip in melted oleo and put in pans.

    Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate or freeze.

    Let rise until double.

    Bake at 425° for about 15 minutes.
