  • 4 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. molasses
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast or 5 tsp. dry yeast
  • 4 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 6 c. rye meal
  • 5 c. white flour

Directions

    Mix all ingredients together to make a stiff dough.

    Knead on floured board.

    Let rise until doubled.

    Put into 3 greased loaf pans.

    Let rise until about doubled.

    Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.
