- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 c. dry bread crumbs or cracker crumbs
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 Tbsp. minced onion
- 1/4 c. finely chopped celery
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Combine everything except soup and water and shape into an oval patty about 1-inch thick.

2Using a small amount of butter, brown on both sides in a skillet.

3Combine soup and water and pour around meat.

4Cook slowly in covered skillet for 25 minutes.

5If desired, put boiled potatoes around meat.

6Soup and meat juices will make the gravy without further thickening.
