Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup cooking wine
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon chopped bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 6 ounces fettuccine, cooked

Directions

    Saute the mushrooms and onions in the butter until tender.

    Add the salt, pepper, and wine; simmer over low heat until the mixture is reduced by half, about 5 minute

    Stir in the cream, bay leaf, celery seed, and thyme.

    Bring to a low boil.

    Pour over pasta.

    Decorate the top of each dish with fresh sliced mushrooms.
