  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

    Combine first 6 ingredients in top of a large double boiler; beat at low speed with a handheld electric mixer until blended. Place over boiling water, beating at high speed 7 minutes; remove from heat. Add vanilla, and beat to spreading consistency. Spread immediately over cooled cake.
