Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. minced onion
  • 1 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 c. fine bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 can golden mushroom soup
  • 1/4 c. water

Directions

    Combine meat, salt, onion, mustard, 1/4 cup crumbs, egg and Worcestershire sauce.

    Mix very well and shape into 6 patties.

    Put the 1/2 cup crumbs on a piece of waxed paper and press patties onto it so the crumbs adhere to the outside.

    Heat the oil in a frypan. Brown patties on both sides.

    Turn down heat.

    Drain off any fat from pan.

    Open soup and add 1/4 cup water.

    Pour over patties. Simmer for 20 to 25 minutes.

    Serve with cooked egg noodles. Sprinkle with chopped chives.

    You can substitute turkey for all or part of beef.
