Ingredients
- 1/2 c. long grain rice (white or brown)
- 1 chicken bouillon cube
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 c. sliced mushrooms (2 1/2 oz. jar), drained
- 1/4 c. water chestnuts, sliced (optional)
- 1 c. wheat bran cereal
- 1/4 tsp. ground sage
- 1/4 tsp. basil leaves
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Cook rice according to package directions (don't use salt or butter).

2Substitute the bouillon cube.

3While rice cooks, melt butter in large skillet.

4Add onion, celery, mushrooms and water chestnuts.

5Cook over medium heat (stir several times) until celery is almost tender.

6Gently add cooked rice, sage, cereal, basil, pepper and water.

7Cover and cook over very low heat about 15 minutes.

8Serve immediately.
