  • 3 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 2 to 3 c. finely shredded cabbage
  • 1 1/2 c. thinly sliced potatoes
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 large or 2 medium carrots, sliced thinly
  • 2 stalks celery, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 c. cubed Canadian bacon or smoky ham
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 2 c. milk
  • dash of paprika and white pepper
  • dash of onion powder and garlic powder

    In a saucepan melt the margarine.

    Stir in flour, salt and dashes of seasonings listed.

    Slowly add milk while stirring to avoid lumps.

    Cook until fairly thick, stirring constantly.
