  • 1 c. brown sugar, packed in cup
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 c. shortening (oleo)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour, sifted with 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Mix all together and add 1/2 cup nuts.

    Press into pan; the mixture will be stiff.

    Ice with caramel icing if you like.

    Bake for 20 minutes at 325°.
