- 4 c. basmati rice
- 1 stick butter or clarified butter
- cinnamon stick, crushed
- 2 bay leaves
- 6 pods cardamon
- 6 cloves
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. raisins
- 2 Tbsp. pistachios
- 2 Tbsp. almonds
Directions

1Wash the rice and set aside to drain.

2Heat the butter in a nonstick pan.

3Add cinnamon stick, cardamon pods, bay leaves and cloves and stir for 1 1/2 minutes.

4Add salt and water (8 cups) to rice, then bring to boil, stirring it a couple of times.

5Reduce heat to low.

6Add raisins, almonds and pistachios.

7Cook, covered, for 10 minutes.

8Serve piping hot.
