  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. oleo
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. Brer Rabbit syrup (molasses)
  • 1 Tbsp. soda

Directions

    Mix the first 3 ingredients into crumbs.

    Reserve 1 cup crumbs.

    Pour water, syrup and soda over the crumbs in the bowl. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Cover with the reserved crumbs. Bake at 350° for approximately 50 to 60 minutes.

    Test with toothpick to be sure not to overbake.
