- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. salt
- 30 to 40 medium cucumbers, cut in half or lengthwise
- 1 qt. water
- 3 Tbsp. mixed pickling spice
- 1 qt. vinegar
- green or dry dill
Directions

1Combine sugar, salt, vinegar and water.

2Tie spices in a cheesecloth bag.

3Add to vinegar mixture.

4Simmer 15 minutes. Pack cucumbers into hot jars, leaving 1/4-inch space at top.

5Put a head of dill in each jar.

6Heat brine to boiling.
-
7Pour boiling hot vinegar mixture over cucumbers, leaving 1/4-inch space at top. Adjust caps.

8Process pints and quarts 15 minutes in boiling water bath.

9Makes about 7 pints.
