- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 4 large onions, peeled and sliced
- 1 c. hot water
- 6 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. seasoned pepper
- 6 c. milk
- 2 c. shredded pasteurized process sharp cheese (8 oz.)
- 2 lb. shrimp, shelled and deveined
- 3 Tbsp. chopped parsley for garnish
Directions

1Begin 1 hour ahead.

2In 5-quart Dutch oven over medium heat, in hot butter or margarine, cook onions until tender.

3Add water, potatoes, salt and seasoned pepper.

4Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender; do not drain.
