Ingredients

  • 2 (20 oz.) cans tomatoes
  • 2 small onions, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1 pinch chili powder
  • dash of Tabasco
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar (about)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 5 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 can tomato puree
  • 2 lb. shrimp
  • 1 lemon (peel and all)

Directions

    Saute vegetables in butter.

    Add other ingredients, except shrimp and lemon; simmer 2 hours.

    Add shrimp during the last 30 minutes and put in whole lemon the last 10 minutes.

    Serve with rice and lemon juice.
