Ingredients

  • 1/4 - 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. diced green pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped celery
  • 1/2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 large can of tomatoes
  • 2 lb. shelled and clean shrimp, raw
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. tabasco
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 small can of tomato paste
  • (add 3 cans of water)

Directions

    Saute vegetables in butter until tender.

    Blend in flour. Add other ingredients except shrimp and bring to boil, stirring constantly.

    Reduce heat and simmer until tomatoes cook down, about 45 minutes.

    Add shrimp and cook slowly 30 minutes or more.
