  • 1 large bell pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 5 branches of celery
  • 2 large cans tomato sauce
  • 1 can hot water
  • 2 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 to 3 lb. shrimp
  • rice

    onion and celery. Add tomato

    water,

    chili powder, bay leaves, vinegar, salt and pepper.

    Let this mixture cook slowly while you brown about 1 cup of flour in shortening real dark (almost burn it). Add to other mixture stirring constantly. Add shrimp and cook 20 minutes after this has come to a boil.

    Stir occasionally. Serve over cooked rice.
