Ingredients

  • 1 c. finely chopped celery
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 3/4 c. white wine
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh parsley
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt to taste
  • 2 lb. fresh peeled shrimp

Directions

    Saute onions, celery, green peppers and garlic in butter until onion is tender.

    Remove from heat and stir in tomato sauce, water, wine and seasonings.

    Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Stir in shrimp and bring to a boil, then cover and cook over medium heat for about 15 to 20 minutes.

    Serve over rice.
