- 3 c. warm water
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. Crisco
- 5 to 6 c. flour
Directions

1Combine the first 3 ingredients and let stand until yeast is dissolved and growing.

2Gradually add the rest of the items and only 1 cup of flour at a time until the dough doesn't stick to hands; knead 5 minutes.

3Rub a small amount of Crisco on surface and cover in warm place.

4Let rise 1 hour.

5Roll a small amount at a time about 1/8-inch thick and cut 3-inch or 4-inch squares.

6Fry in hot oil until golden and pillowy.

7Serve hot with honey, sugar and cinnamon.
