  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 4 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Sift together all the dry ingredients and work in the shortening.

    Add the liquid to make a soft dough, then roll it out on a lightly floured board to a thickness of 1/2-inch.

    With a biscuit cutter, cut the dough before putting it into a greased pan and baking it in a hot oven at 425°, for 15 minutes.
