- 6 to 8 medium fresh squash
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 medium onion
- 1/2 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Wash squash and slice into saucepan.

2Cover with water, add salt and boil until tender.

3Fry bacon, set aside.

4Leave enough grease in frying pan to cover bottom of pan.

5Chop onion and brown in bacon grease.

6Drain squash and add to onion.

7Break slices of bacon up into squash.

8Stir and add salt and pepper to taste.

9Add sugar and stir.

10Let simmer on medium heat until excess juice is absorbed, about 15 to 20 minutes.
