Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 to 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped fine
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 (12 oz.) cans tomato paste
  • 2 envelopes dry spaghetti sauce mix
  • 1 jar mushrooms
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped or crushed
  • 16 oz. spaghetti

Directions

    Cook and stir meat, onion and pepper until meat is brown and onion is tender.

    Stir in remaining ingredients except spaghetti and cheese.

    Cover and simmer on low heat; stir often.

    Cook spaghetti and pour sauce over it.

    Top with cheese.

    Serve with salad and crusty rolls or French or Italian bread.
