Ingredients
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. each: hot and sweet Italian sausage
- 3 large cans tomato puree
- 2 medium red bell peppers
- 1 medium onion
- 3 or 4 cloves garlic, pressed
- oregano, basil and pepper to taste
- 1 pkg. fresh or 1 large can mushrooms
Directions

1Roast peppers under broiler until blackened.

2Cool and peel. Chop peppers, onion and mushrooms.

3Cook vegetables in small amount of olive oil until tender in stock pot.

4Brown sausage and ground beef.

5Add vegetables and seasoning.

6Add garlic only after, to avoid burning.

7Add tomato puree.

8Bring to simmer for 2 to 3 hours, depending on how hot you want sauce.

9Remove hot sausage. Makes very large amount.

10May be frozen, or use half the recipe.
