  • 2 c. rice
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 3 c. water
  • 1/2 c. tomato sauce
  • 1/8 tsp. cumin
  • 1/8 tsp. granulated garlic or to taste
  • 2 large chicken bouillon cubes or 3 Tbsp. meatless chicken broth, dissolved in 1/2 c. water

    Saute rice in oil until light brown.

    Add water, tomato sauce, cumin and garlic.

    Dissolve bouillon or broth powder in 1/2 cup of water before adding.

    Total amount of liquids should be 4 cups. Bring to a boil.

    Cover and reduce to a simmer until done, 20 to 25 minutes.

    Serves 6.
