  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 3/4 c. uncooked rice
  • 1/2 c. chili sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • dash of pepper

Directions

    In large skillet, cook bacon until crisp.

    Pour off half the fat.

    In remaining fat, cook onion and green pepper until tender. Add tomatoes, water, rice, chili sauce, salt, brown sugar, etc. Cover and simmer 35 to 40 minutes.

    Crumble bacon over top. Serves 6.
