Spanish Skillet Rice

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 (1 3/8 oz.) envelope onion soup mix
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 3/4 c. raw white rice
  • 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Directions

    In a heavy skillet, cook beef, stirring with a fork, until meat is broken up and has lost its red color.

    Stir in onion soup mix, water, rice and tomatoes.

    Cover and simmer about 25 minutes or until rice is tender.

    Top with grated cheese just before serving.
