  • 1 1/2 c. Foremost milk
  • 1 clove garlic, cut in half
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 c. green onion slices
  • 3 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 1/2 c. corn meal
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Rub inside of a 9-inch layer pan with garlic; grease pan well. Add milk, egg, onion and oil to combined dry ingredients; mix until well blended.

    Pour into prepared 9-inch layer pan and bake at 450° for 20 to 25 minutes.

    Immediately remove from pan; cut into wedges.

    Serve warm with butter.

    Makes 9-inch round corn bread.
