Spinach Wontons

  • 10 oz. pkg. chopped frozen spinach
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 doz. wonton skins, thawed

Directions

    Cook spinach, drain well and press dry.

    Melt butter in skillet and add onion and saute until tender.
  3. 3
    Stir in next 5 ingredients.

    Place one teaspoon spinach mixture in center of each wonton.

    Lightly brush edges with water.

    Fold over and press edges together.

    When all are filled, place several at a time in hot oil and fry 30 seconds on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

    These freeze well.
