- 4 c. water
- 1/2 c. dry split green peas
- 1/4 c. dry lima beans
- 1/8 c. uncooked barley
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. celery seed
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 1 white potato, chopped
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
- 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper
- dash of white pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Place the water in a large soup pot. Add peas, limas, barley, onion, bay leaf and celery.

2Seed and cook 1 1/2 hours.

3Add the remaining ingredients and cook an additional 45 minutes to 60 minutes.

4Serves 4.
