Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
- 1 lb. pkg. green split peas
- 2 qt. water
- 1 meaty ham bone
- 1 1/2 c. sliced onions
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp. marjoram
- 1 c. diced celery
- 1 c. sliced carrots
- 1 tsp. parsley flakes
Directions

1Cover peas with water and soak overnight.

2Drain.

3Add the 2 quarts of water, ham bone, onions and seasonings.

4Bring to boiling.

5Cover, reduce heat and simmer 2 hours.

6Stir occasionally.

7Remove bone and cut off meat.

8Return meat to soup; add remaining ingredients.

9Cool slowly for 45 minutes.

10Salt to taste.

11Makes 8 to 10 servings.
