Split Pea Soup

- 1 meaty ham bone
- 3 qt. water
- 1/2 c. celery, chopped
- 1 pkg. green or yellow split peas
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Soak peas in water overnight. Drain.

2Put peas and ham bone in water.

3Add onions and celery.

4Bring to boil and simmer slowly, stirring occasionally until peas disintegrated and turned to mush. Add seasonings.

5Makes 8 to 10 servings.
