Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
- 1 bag green split peas
- 2 large carrots
- 1 large onion
- 2 potatoes
- 2 stalks celery
- 2 cloves garlic
- ham bone (some meat remaining)
- 3 qt. boiling water
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Coarsely chop the vegetables and add to the boiling water, along with the ham bone and split peas. Cover and cook slowly for about 2 hours.

2Remove ham bone.

3Put soup through food mill and return to the pot.

4Remove ham from bone in small pieces and add to the soup.

5Season with salt and pepper as desired.

6Serve.
