Ingredients
- 1 lb. green split peas
- 2 1/2 qt. water
- 1 meaty ham bone
- 1 1/2 c. diced onion
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp. marjoram
- 1 c. diced celery
- 1 c. diced carrots
- 1 tsp. parsley flakes
- salt to taste
Directions

1Cover peas with water and soak overnight.

2Drain.

3Add the water, ham bone, onion and seasonings.

4Bring to a boil.

5Cover and let simmer for 2 hours.

6Remove bone and cut off meat. Return meat to soup; add remaining ingredients.

7Cook slowly for 45 minutes.
